Terms & Conditions
Refund Policy: our cancellation and refund rules are set out in Section 4.6 — Cancellations, Refunds, and No-Shows (Refund Policy).
1. General Provisions
Lanes LLC, 10 Ahmed Zou Alfakar Street, San Stefano, Alexandria, Egypt ("Lanes" or "La Limo") enables its users to book chauffeured transportation through the La Limo mobile application and platform (the "La Limo Tools").
La Limo provides its transportation services through its own chauffeurs and through carefully selected partner chauffeurs and providers. Where a ride is performed by a partner provider, La Limo arranges and remains responsible for the service it provides to you under these Terms.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form part of every agreement between you and La Limo for the booking and provision of these services. Any conflicting terms proposed by the user do not apply unless La Limo has expressly agreed to them in writing.
2. Booking and Conclusion of Contract
You book a ride by submitting a completed booking request through the La Limo Tools and paying the displayed price. Rides must be booked at least 12 hours before the scheduled pickup time.
A contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed and we send you a booking confirmation by email. The booking confirmation sets out the agreed details of your ride.
3. Account Registration
To book through the La Limo Tools, you must register for an account. You must be at least 18 years old to register. You confirm that all information you provide to us — or that is provided on your behalf — is complete and accurate, and you agree to keep it up to date. Registration by automated means is not permitted.
4. The Ride
4.1 Ride Types and Changes
Subject to local availability, La Limo offers point-to-point transfers (including airport transfers) and hourly bookings.
If the ride actually carried out involves additional effort because of requests that differ from the original booking, the chauffeur will accommodate these where possible. Additional effort may result in additional charges (see section 5). Subject to availability, you may request changes to a ride after the contract is concluded, which may also result in additional charges.
For a transfer, the displayed price is based on the start and destination addresses. Additional stops may incur an additional charge under the applicable price schedule.
An hourly booking may be made for 3 to 12 hours. It begins at the booked pickup time and ends within the city area of the pickup location. If the ride goes beyond the city area or the booked number of hours is exceeded, additional charges may apply (see section 5).
4.2 Pickup Time
The agreed pickup time is the time stated in your booking confirmation.
For an airport pickup where you have provided a correct flight number, we track the scheduled arrival, and the agreed pickup time is adjusted automatically if your flight is delayed.
4.3 Vehicles
When booking, you choose from the vehicles available for your route and date. The vehicles shown in the La Limo Tools correspond to our actual fleet. If the vehicle you selected becomes unavailable, we will provide an equivalent or higher-class vehicle at no additional cost.
4.4 Luggage, Animals, Children, and Capacity
The price in your booking confirmation includes the number of pieces of luggage stated in your booking.
Excess or bulky luggage (such as a wheelchair), weapons, or animals must be specified when booking. The chauffeur may refuse to carry luggage, weapons, or animals that were not agreed in advance — including animals not kept in a suitable, closed transport box — except where mandatory local law requires them to be carried. If additional items are carried by agreement, additional charges may apply (see section 5).
If you are travelling with children, you must specify, when booking, the number and age of the children and the type of child restraint required. The transport of unaccompanied minors may be refused; minor status is determined under the law of the place where the ride is performed.
The maximum number of passengers and the number and size of luggage for each vehicle are binding. The chauffeur may decline to carry passengers or luggage where, in their assessment, space or safety does not permit it.
4.5 Delays
Exceptional circumstances — such as strikes, severe weather, or similar events outside our control — can only be accommodated to a limited extent. In such cases, longer waiting times or short-notice changes may be unavoidable and must be accepted.
4.6 Cancellations, Refunds, and No-Shows (Refund Policy)
Cancellations. You may cancel a booked ride up to 12 hours before the scheduled pickup time. A cancellation is only effective when made using the cancellation function in the La Limo Tools. When you cancel, you choose how your refund is issued:
- La Limo Balance — 100% of the ride price is credited to your in-app balance instantly, with no fee (see section 5.5); or
- Original payment method — the portion you paid by card or mobile wallet is refunded minus a 3% processing fee; any portion you paid from your La Limo Balance is returned to your balance in full, with no fee. Refunds to a card or wallet are processed after review and may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
Cancellations are not available within 12 hours of the scheduled pickup time or once the ride has begun, and the fare is then non-refundable. For a round trip, each leg is cancelled and refunded independently.
Fare reductions. If a change to your ride reduces the price (see section 5.2), the difference is refunded with the same two options described above.
Tips. Tips are voluntary and non-refundable (see section 5.6).
Rebookings. Rebookings are generally treated as new bookings, and the cancellation rules above apply to the originally agreed ride.
No-shows. If you do not appear for a ride and do not cancel it, your claim to the ride lapses but the full price remains payable. A ride is treated as a no-show if you or your guest do not appear:
- within 30 minutes of the agreed pickup time at a standard pickup location; or
- within 60 minutes of the agreed pickup time at an airport.
No-show rides are charged in full (waiting-time surcharges do not additionally apply), unless the chauffeur and guest have agreed a later pickup time by telephone.
4.7 Conduct During the Ride
For everyone's safety, the following applies during the ride:
- Applicable road-traffic rules apply to all passengers, including the obligation to wear a seatbelt, and the chauffeur's instructions must be followed at all times. The chauffeur is responsible for completing the ride safely. Passengers must not open doors while the vehicle is moving, throw objects from the vehicle, or lean out of it.
- Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. If you or a guest smokes in the vehicle, you are responsible for the cost of cleaning and any resulting loss of use.
- Eating in the vehicle is discouraged.
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 General Principles
Your booking confirmation states the price payable. The main factors are the vehicle, the route, and the pickup date and time. Special requests — such as additional stops, waiting time, or child seats — may increase the price. All prices are shown before you pay and are inclusive of VAT.
5.2 Changes to the Ride
Subject to availability, you may change a ride after the contract is concluded, using the La Limo Tools, at any time before the ride has started. If the change increases the price — for example a longer route, more hours, or a different vehicle — you pay the difference at the time of the change. If the change reduces the price, the difference is refunded as described in section 4.6.
5.3 Stops and Waiting Time
You can add stops to your ride when booking or changing it. The first 30 minutes of waiting at each stop are free; longer waiting is priced at the applicable hourly waiting rate and included in the price shown before you pay.
At pickup, your chauffeur waits for you free of charge within the no-show windows described in section 4.6.
5.4 Payment
You pay for your ride in full when you book, in Egyptian pounds (EGP). Accepted payment methods are credit or debit card, Egyptian mobile wallets, and your La Limo Balance, which can cover a payment in full or in part alongside a card or wallet. Card and wallet fees are borne by La Limo.
You can choose to save a card for future payments. We store only the card brand and last four digits — full card details are held by our certified payment service provider — and using a saved card still requires your CVV and 3-D Secure confirmation.
5.5 La Limo Balance
Your La Limo Balance is in-app credit. It is credited only through refunds (see section 4.6) and can be used to pay, in full or in part, for rides and tips. The balance cannot be topped up, withdrawn, transferred, or redeemed for cash, and it does not expire.
5.6 Tips
After a ride is completed, you may add a voluntary tip for your chauffeur through the La Limo Tools — once per ride, paid by card, mobile wallet, or La Limo Balance. Tips are passed on to the chauffeur and are non-refundable.
5.7 Invoices and Receipts
The full price is due when you book. We email you a receipt and invoice for every payment, and a confirmation for every refund.
6. Liability
La Limo is liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence by La Limo or its agents. For damage caused by simple negligence, La Limo is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes performance of the contract possible and on which you may reasonably rely), and only for foreseeable, typical damage. These limitations do not apply to liability for injury to life, body, or health, to any guarantee given, or to any liability that cannot be limited by law.
La Limo is not liable for the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or availability of free content and functions provided through the La Limo Tools, except where damage is caused intentionally or through gross negligence. La Limo does not guarantee that the La Limo Tools will be available without interruption or error.
La Limo accepts no responsibility for the content or functionality of third-party websites linked from the La Limo Tools; you access them at your own risk.
You will indemnify La Limo against claims and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal defense costs) that a third party asserts against La Limo because of your non-contractual use of the La Limo Tools or your breach of these Terms.
No liability is accepted for objects left behind in the vehicle.
7. Changes to the Service
La Limo may change the La Limo Tools at any time in a manner reasonable for you, in order to develop and improve them. La Limo may also suspend or discontinue its offer through the La Limo Tools for good cause.
8. Intellectual Property
The content made available through the La Limo Tools is protected by intellectual property law. La Limo grants you a revocable right to use the La Limo Tools for their intended purpose, subject to your compliance with these Terms. Any other use — such as modifying, copying, republishing, transmitting, or distributing the content — is not permitted.
9. Final Provisions
Entire agreement; written form. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and La Limo for the services covered. There are no side agreements. Amendments must be made in writing to be valid.
Set-off, retention, and assignment. You may only set off claims against La Limo, or assert a right of retention, where your counterclaim is undisputed or legally established. A right of retention may only be exercised in respect of claims arising from the same contractual relationship. You may not assign your claims under the contract to a third party without La Limo's express written consent.
Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms and all legal relations between you and La Limo are governed by the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The place of performance and the place of jurisdiction is Cairo, to the extent permitted by law.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, unenforceable, or incomplete, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The parties will replace any such provision with one that most closely reflects its intended meaning and economic purpose.
